VinylTech & Hi-D 2500 Single Hung & Slider

OPERATION
After unlocking the window, open the single-hung by either lifting the lift bar at the bottom of the sash or by pushing the top of the sash upward. When closing, some outward pressure on the top of the sash may be necessary for the interlock to engage. If the locks are not properly aligned after the window is fully closed, open window again and close by pulling downward and pressing outward on the top of the sash.

CLEANING
The side channels, center interlock, and sills should be kept free from dirt and debris. New homes may still have some debris from the construction process. To ensure smooth operation of the window sash, clean out all foreign debris with a small paint brush. To clean the vinyl surfaces, use a mild household detergent and a soft cloth. The glass may be cleaned with a common glass cleaner and soft cloth.

GLASS REPLACEMENT
Atria windows contain a 3/4" overall glass thickness sealed using AFG's patented Intercept® system. This is the gray seal that goes inside the perimeter of the glass. Should the glass become broken, a local glass service can replace the glass by removing the snap-in interior glazing bead with a putty knife.

We recommend that you use a glass service that can seal your new glass with Intercept and not a conductive aluminum spacer. Also, be sure that they use the same type of glass. (MANY ATRIA WINDOWS ARE MANUFACTURED WITH LOW-E GLASS.) Atria can also supply glass or glass replacement services by calling (740) 967-0060.

CONDENSATION
Condensation on window units is a common winter problem which is caused by warm moist air contacting the cooler window surfaces. In order to control condensation, the humidity must be controlled.

HOW TO CONTROL HUMIDITY:

  1. CONTROLLING SOURCES OF HUMIDITY: Vent all gas burners, clothes dryers, etc., to the outdoors. Use kitchen or bathroom exhaust fans. Disconnect furnace humidifiers.
  2. WINTER VENTILATION: Newer homes should be aired out daily. Open 1 or 2 windows and let some fresh air in.

  3. HEAT: The process of heating your home will reduce the relative humidity, providing it's DRY HEAT.
